A nutty new perspective

Updated: Sep 29, 2020

Hi, I’m Krystina—and I’m NUTS! (Ha, I couldn’t resist). You may know me as “peanut butter girl,” and refer to me as such directly, but I’ll take it as a compliment. It’s kinda cool to be known as your profession.

There’s always so much pressure writing the first post, isn’t there? And if you’re reading this, I’m really excited to have you here. Let me tell you a little bit more about me, and then I’ll tell (convince) you why you should stick around.

I’m the owner and founder of Noomi® [new-me], an artisan producer of organic peanut butter and lifestyle brand out of Hartsdale, NY. I founded Noomi in April 2018 with a vision to inspire people to pursue what they are passionate about and find their “new me.” I often describe Noomi as a mindset too—because I want to empower people to create their best life by engaging with the brand. And while I’m the brains behind this butter, I am also a full-time communication consultant and copywriter; 110% or nothing enthusiast; and agility “pom mom” to Jaxston (“Jax”) Gandalf, my 3.5 year-old orange sable Pomeranian.

As an entrepreneurial small business owner balancing a full-time job (with agility dreams, wellness goals, and sometimes a personal life), it can be a real challenge to do exactly that: find the balance. But I’m grateful for how far I’ve come, what I’ve achieved personally and professionally, the people I’ve met, and the new things I learn every day—all of which continue to help me grow.

And that’s why you’re here.

This blog is about my story. Well, my story, through the story of Noomi. Let it inspire you to find what you love, do what you love and love what you do. Let it encourage you to bring your dreams to life, whether it be a business idea, earning a higher educational degree, or a total career change. I want you to realize it’s possible to achieve what you believe, and help you find an even greater sense of purpose and fulfillment when you do.

I’ve experienced a lot, and I want to share those learnings with you, so that you can see why you should just keep going a nutter day. I’ll offer my advice to entrepreneurs and small business owners, in hopes that I can help you move forward when you’re faced with obstacles and tough decisions, or don’t know what to do. I’ll answer any questions you have along the way, help point you in the right direction when I can, and support you when you need that extra motivational push. I may have been in similar shoes, so if I can help, or mentor in even the littlest way, I want to do that for you.

Most of all, I want you to discover your “new me,” and do everything in your power to pursue it. You may not know what you’re doing when you start, but that’s the reality of any big step you take. That’s why starting is the hardest part—and usually the scariest part too. But there’s no “known” without the unknown, and no rewards without risks. And there’s no greater reward than creating the path for your life and living it every day.

Here’s how Noomi has changed my life and my perspective.

Building Noomi from the ground up, has taught me that anything you can dream is absolutely possible. But it’s not without hard work, commitment to achieving your goals, and most of all, passion. In today’s environment, it’s easy to get comfortable. To get content with what you do and what you know, and be afraid to take risks because of uncertainty, fear, or even failure.

But the greatest rewards, often come from the greatest risks. It’s just about having the courage to start. To take that first step, and commit to every step of the journey after that.

I found what I was passionate about, and granted it was a little nuts—but I still actively chose to pursue that passion and shape the path I desired for my life. I strived to find the perfect peanut, and create the best peanut butter that I could possibly make. And in giving that 110% of my heart, drive and enthusiasm, a new me was awakened by this brand. A happier and humbled me.

The way I see it, success is not only measured by the gratitude and inspiration I feel through the brand I brought to life, but how those same sentiments can be transferred to anyone who engages with it. And I hope that’s what I can encourage you to do as I share my story.

So here’s to a New Year, noo me, and noo you too.

What risks will you take to do what you love?

Stay nuts!
